Wescon Construction has been protecting Space Coast homes and commercial properties since 1996. We are a family-founded, Florida-licensed roofing and general contracting company based in Melbourne, FL, serving all of Brevard County, including Melbourne Beach, Palm Bay, Merritt Island, Satellite Beach, Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Rockledge, and more. We hold both a State of Florida Certified Roofing Contractor license (CCC1330785) and a State of Florida Certified General Contractor license (CGC1506914). Our Story: A Space Coast Company Built From the Ground Up
A Father & Daughter Team
Wescon Construction was founded in 1996 by Sergio Novo, a general contractor, engineer, and licensed roofer who understood that Florida's homes demand something more than what the average contractor delivers. The Space Coast's climate- extreme heat, hurricane-force winds, heavy seasonal rain, and corrosive coastal salt air- requires a roofer who has spent decades learning exactly how Florida behaves, not a national chain flying in a crew from out of state.
Sergio built Wescon on the job sites of Brevard County. During the 2005 hurricane season, Wescon crews were completing hundreds of roofs as the company became a trusted name on the Space Coast. That reputation was earned once again after Hurricane Irma, when Wescon was completing 33 roofs per week at peak, serving this community and surrounding areas that were hit hard during the storm
Since August 1st, 2014, Wescon has been led by Kristen Novo Schettino, Sergio's daughter and the company's President and CEO, who joined the business and took the helm as Wescon's full-time leader. Under Kristen's leadership, the company has expanded its roofing and general contracting capabilities, formalized its certifications, and deepened its presence across Melbourne and Brevard County.
Meet Kristen Novo Schettino, President & CEO
Kristen Novo Schettino is not a silent owner. She is present on job sites, in industry committees, and in the communities Wescon serves. As President and CEO, Kristen oversees every aspect of Wescon Construction: from how crews install underlayment to the roofing system products Wescon selects for each climate zone.
Outside the office, Kristen is one of the most active figures in the Brevard County, a member of the Space Coast Builders Association and state and national associations such as the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association and National Women in Roofing. She currently serves on multiple committees, where she assists with event planning and works directly alongside the county's home builders and general contractors. She does not send a stand-in; she is present, and the industry knows it.
Kristen's philosophy is direct: she doesn’t do things halfway. If she joins an industry association, she joins a committee. If she takes on a roofing project, she uses the best materials available. If a homeowner needs to understand why aluminum is required on their coastal property vs. why steel is the right call for an inland Melbourne home, she takes the time to explain it. That standard runs through every Wescon project.

The Products Behind Every Wescon Roof
Most roofing companies tell you about the material you can see: the shingle, the tile, the metal panel. Wescon goes further, because what goes underneath the surface material is just as important to long-term performance.
Underlayment by Roof Type
For metal tile installations, Wescon primarily uses Polyglass TU Plus , a peel-and-stick, self-adhering underlayment with a 12-month exposure rating, applied direct-to-deck as a sealed secondary water barrier. For shingle installations, Wescon matches the underlayment brand to the shingle manufacturer; if we install a GAF shingle, we use GAF underlayment; an Owens Corning shingle gets Owens Corning underlayment. This matching system ensures the homeowner qualifies for the full manufacturer system warranty, not a partial one.
