Indian River Lagoon Coastal Cleanup
Dear Volunteers, Sponsors, Contributors, and Cheerleaders of the Indian River Lagoon Coastal Cleanup,
On behalf of GreenSpace Water Alliance, we want to extend our deepest gratitude for your heart, hands, and time at the Cleanup. Because of your energy, passion, and teamwork, we made a real difference on September 20, 2025.
What you helped accomplish:
- Together, you helped clean 25 miles of shoreline from trash and debris.
- Collectively you removed over 3,013 pounds of trash that otherwise would pollute our estuary of national significance.
- You collected staggering amounts of pollutants: over 3,700 pieces of plastic, nearly 3,000 food wrappers, thousands of construction materials, tiny foam pieces, plastic bottles and bottle caps, grocery bags, fishing line, and more.
Why it matters:
Every piece of trash picked up is one less threat to wildlife, to water quality, and to the beauty of our natural spaces. Beyond the weight and numbers, you helped raise awareness and set a compelling example for the power of community—that when people come together, change is possible. The knowledge shared about plastic waste, fishing line, and how debris travels from our shorelines into the Lagoon & Ocean will ripple outward, influencing how we all live and care for our environment.
Thank you does not feel big enough for what you have done. Still, please know that your efforts are seen, counted, and deeply appreciated.
Because of you:
- the Lagoon is cleaner
- people, wildlife, and plants will face fewer hazards
- our community has been reminded of what it means to act with purpose
- the foundations are laid for even more engagement and improvement in future cleanups

Coastal Lagoon Cleanup
Every year, Wescon Construction is honored to sponsor the Coastal Lagoon Cleanup, an incredible community-driven event dedicated to preserving the health and beauty of the Indian River Lagoon. This annual effort brings together volunteers from across the Space Coast to remove trash and debris from our local causeways—helping protect one of Florida’s most precious natural resources.
At Wescon, we believe in giving back to the community we’ve called home since 1996. For the cleanup, we provide dumpsters at key causeway locations and assist with weighing and hauling the collected debris, ensuring the trash is removed efficiently and responsibly.
Beyond supporting the physical cleanup, we’re proud to help raise awareness about the importance of the Indian River Lagoon and the small actions we can all take to protect it for generations to come.
Haven House
In March 2025, Wescon Construction proudly sponsored The Haven House’s 5K Run for Hope, supporting their mission to provide a safe and nurturing environment for young girls who have experienced abuse or neglect. The Haven House is dedicated to empowering at-risk youth through compassionate care, counseling, and life skills development. We’re honored to contribute to a cause that helps build brighter futures in our community.
